The Carboot will take place on the First Sunday of each month. There will be a special Christmas Market on Sunday 18 December 2011 and will be in the school sports hall (GPS 40.090294,-8.334022) if the weather is wet or looking like it will be or if the weather is fair then it will be out in the Gardens. The old Market is being refurbished hence the change of arrangements. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS. There is a map below showing where the sports hall is so people don't get lost.
The Carboot opens to Sellers from 08h00, please note the time change. Please bring a small table and chair for your comfort. The public is welcome soon thereafter.
The Miranda do corvo Car Boot is one of The Cedar Center's primary fund raising activities. The cost of a stall at the carboot is a modest €5.00, and all donations of food a few tins of cat food or a bag of dry food to help feed the animals, (monies raised from the sale car boot goods donated your bric a brac and unwanted items for us to sell and cash donations all go toward the support and care of the animals).
The Center receives the support of the Câmara Municipal Miranda Do corvo and endorsed by the Tourist Board. It has a great impact on the town once a month especially when it is in the Gardens. On location there are, public toilets, children's playground and lovely gardens to relax in. From time to time there are other activities Folk Dancing, Brass bands and so forth. It is also now one of the places to be and to meet up with fellow ex pats as well as other English speaking foreigners.
If you wish to have a stall at the Car Boot, it is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis and when the market is outside remember to bring your own table for your goods. To participate in the market we ask for a donation of €5.00 and enforces the fact that we are the organisation responsible for the behaviour of the sellers, i.e. no commercial goods are allowed to be displayed or sold.
In Summary,
the location for the Car Boot is held in two primary locations: at the Municipal Market in Miranda do Corvo , undercover during the winter months, usually from November to April in the Miranda do Corvo gardens in front of the Câmara in the town square generally from May to October If the weather turns inclement then we revert to the Municipal Market.
Traders are from 08h00 onwards , first-come, first-served basis no booking for places
The carboot operates from 08.30 to 17.00 in the winter and in the summer trade can continue to 19.00
We welcome donations of bric-a-brac which we sell and all carboot raised are for The Cedar Centre
Please include a bag of dry dog food or tins of cat food in your monthly shopping and pbric thbracin the 'bin', all food donated means we have money to improve conditions for the animals.
